Coast

coastal tour

Norway has the seventh longest coastline - 29,000 kms including fjords; 2,500 kms excluding - of any country in the world. Subsequently, there is a lot to explore. Obvious highlights to the motorcyclist include The Atlantic Highway, but there is a great deal to be gained from simply riding aimlessly the numerous minor roads along the coastline north and south of Bergen.

The Norwegians, through fishing and, more recently, oil and gas exploration in the North Sea, have a close relationship to their coastline; it's respected, and although most places are inhabited, albeit by very few people, their presence has done little to change the overall appearance of the coastline through the years. Idyllic coastal villages, short ferry crossings and stunning scenery will be ever present. The Norsebound Coastal Tour will never be far from fjords or mountains, so do not feel that by choosing this tour you will miss out on experiencing Norway's fjords or mountains; both are omnipresent wherever you ride.
